INTERNAL BOWLING EVENTS – 2025-26

CHRISTMAS JUMPERS OR HATS ROLL UP, Thursday, 11 December 2025
There was a great turnout for this roll up (approximately 18), the mince pies and a bit of bowling!!

David Lougher introduced the game of Rinks to everyone – teams of 4 with each member having 2 bowls only. Once everyone got the hang of the rules they started to enjoy themselves.

Thank you to everyone for coming out and staying for the mince pies and teas afterwards.

Thanks to Jo and David for their amazing hard work before, throughout and after the event that made it run smoothly and made it all the more enjoyable for those who joined in.

AUTUMN KNOCKOUT CHALLENGE, Saturday, 30 August 2025
This ALL-DAY event was open to ALL bowlers, ability didn’t matter!

VE DAY ROLL UP, Monday, 5 May 2025
An excellent turn out today, 16 members turned up to play.
At least 10 degrees cooler than last week!
All turned out in the spirit of the occasion. Brilliant, thank you.

Competition was just for fun today, no entry fee and no prizes!!!!!
Tea and coffee afterwards with brownies, fairy cakes etc.
Weather was awful at first but True Grit was shown by all players
to show respect to our forefathers who fought so hard to enable
us to carry on.

SPRING KNOCKOUT COMPETITION, Wednesday, 23 April 2025
This was another very successful event that was very much enjoyed by everyone.

FUN EASTER ROLL UP, Thursday, 17 April 2025
The afternoon started with a fun Egg & Spoon (walking!) race.

Unfortunately, a few members noticed some 'Bunny business going on'!. It was reported  that a couple of players had found a way of keeping their egg from falling off the Spoon! I immediately called the Chairman to hold a Stewards enquiry. Shock, horror, the Chairman was left with 'Egg on his face' as he was caught in the act with his accomplice?? Despite this, it was still great fun.
